CATHOLIC YOUTH EVANGELIZATION IS CHANGING
Traditional youth ministry continues to face numerous roadblocks when trying to foster long term disciples
Young people are encountering God, yet still feel disconnected from the church
Meeting the basic needs of teenagers has become increasing difficult in their rapidly evolving culture
At the core of this change is a relationship crisis. Teenagers are in desperate need of relationships that go deeper. They desire a church where they can form spiritual friendships, receive spiritual mentorship, and find reasonable explanations to their questions.
Yet, in current youth evangelization, what environments have we created for teens to build these types of relationships? If helping them form spiritual friendships with peers and mentoring relationships with adults is not a priority in the church, we will find them searching for relationships somewhere else, often in all the wrong places.
Live Jesus Ministries aims to help meet this need by equipping parishes and schools in the Diocese of Toledo to build a spiritual mentorship ministry for teens at their location via small group discipleship and one-on-one mentoring.

The goal of Live Jesus Ministries is to equip Catholic schools and parishes in the Diocese of Toledo with the training, networking, and resources they need to create a spiritual mentorship ministry for teens at their location, primarily through small group discipleship.
We pray that this effort will help young people develop authentic, meaningful, and holy relationships with God, the Church, their peers, and the adult faithful, leading them to become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.
